Simple and effective tackle

Have you ever gotten caught up in the hype? What I mean is, do you have a boat or shed full of gimmicky lures that hardly get touched? I have a ton myself. I love fishing, and fishing gear. It has occurred to me that, the marketing of big brand products is not aimed at the fish, but rather the fisherman. And it works. My goal is to provide lures that are practical, and that the fish actually don't see often and wish to bite. Flashy colors, bells and whistles are all exciting for us. But do fish really need all that jazz? I have tried several different tactics lately that have proved to me fish are not as smart or detail oriented as we are. For instance, I literally have caught bass with a stick I found near the water that I put a treble hook on. I also poored some clear plastic baits and had success. Now, I am not saying that is the best way to fish, I just realized fish will eat if they think its food. So, in light of that, I am producing versatile, simple, cost-effective lures for anglers to use. I use black for nearly every situation. White for deep water, or muddy conditions. Green and Brown for ultra clear water. I will even throw in some June Bug for those high-pressured fish who may react to something different, and the green flakes can draw attention from a distance. I try to add some shiny flake when possible because anything that can draw a fish's attention can increase the odds of a strike. I make several sizes and colors to "match the hatch" in situations where need be. The BTL Stinger for instance is a very versatile lure in that it can be fished in nearly every way. Weedless, Neko, Wacky, drop shot, just to name a few. It can also be an excellent trailer. The BTL Critter is heavy enough to fish weightless and weedless with a 3/0 or 4/0 hook. You can add some weight and punch that weed bed or pads or maybe just fish deeper water faster. It also makes a good trailer, though a bit large for my taste. The Buzz Swimmer is a good example of versatility, fishing with a 4/0 or 5/0 hook and no weight provides a unique topwater presentation that drives bass insane in the summer. Add some weight and swims in a way that no other lure can match. The Ned Stinger is a great trailer or fished with a jig to drive those bass crazy. It also works well as a drop shot rig. The Mini Stinger is pure Crappie candy. They cannot resist it. Drop a black one in a bluegills nest and it won't take long. The Gill Getters are our answer to the live cricket hassle. The BTL Worm has a tail action on the fall that will coax the most stubborn bass into biting. The BTL Jiggin Craw has claws that float, and when used as a trailer for a bladed jig, well let's just say if a fish sees that, he's eatin it!
